Hello :D
ImodioImodio 1240801809|%e %b %Y, %H:%M %Z|agohover

Hello everyone!
I couldn't say i'm a novice at programming, but i wish to become a great game designer.
I know C++ pretty nicely, not bad for a third grader, but i'm always worried about the schools i'm learning into.
Here in Italy there aren't game designing campus/colleges, so i would like to ask: do i need to have a diploma in IT, then transfer to a GD college, lost somewhere in the states?
I'm still pretty unsure about what to decide, but i'll be happy to receive some tips, and learn the ropes while i'm on it. Also, this wiki look decently filled with good information, so i'll stay tuned to see what i'm going up to.
Sincerely, Andy.

P.S. This would be almost useless to think, but i always thought to have the idea for the ultimate game!

There's not alot of posts here, is there?

How rude of me. Allow me to introduce myself.

My username is Seijitsu. It means "sincerity" in Japanese. Yes, I am a japanophile, thanks for asking.

I've never worked directly with code, but I at least know my fair share of computers, having worked with and around them since I was four (being 22 now). I learned asked my dad how computers worked when I was five, and he taught me binary. That's all the life story you're going to get, because i'm pretty sure that was not the introduction you had in mind.

I've wanted to design a few crappy games of my own for awhile. Mostly been lacking motivation and people with the skills and the motivation to form a team with me. Looks like I'm going to be on my own for this first one. I've got a bunch of game ideas, but all of them are far beyond the scope of my abilities. I am at least reasonable enough to realize that they are. For my first game idea, I just want something basic, to test my abilities to build a working physics engine, basic controls, and working AI that can move through a simulated environment without getting lost or stuck, and be able to detect and search out their target (usually, the player) in some manner.

I'm pretty much just going to start with this, then unravel the code, and continue to build on top of it until I get the final product I want.

PS, I created an account, but it doesn't seem to work. I'll go back and check on that after I finish this post.

It's nice to meet you. But listen closely.

You are on a network of wikis.

This is the main wiki forum, where I post news for the entire network and the forum is used to discuss how to make wikis.

You need to post on the Game Design Novice Forum, where there are game programmers.
